Used to be 5 days...but like I said, he was very flexible if you didn't take the piss, it was mainly to deter "full-timers"...there was never any problem moving swims in a session either...

Assuming that is still the situation it makes it hard to maximise your fishing time ie two weeks holiday means four days fishing with a five day break in between. I understand the time bandit problem and see the need to control it but this way makes it very expensive not to say very profitable. Many more paying members accessing heavily rationed fishing. Interesting to know current prices.

Not that I'd ever have to worry about a lake that's 2k a year to fish, especially as the chances of me getting a recommendation are nil as I don't know anybody, but reminds me a bit of the pit in the syndicate books 😂

Interesting to look at the business model. In the video I think 70 ish acres was mentioned as the size. How many swims are there on the lake for how many members?

If you were on holiday and wanted to fish longer sessions during that time I am sure this would be considered, like I say, he was very fair as long as you weren't a piss-taker....if you did 48 hours week in and week out then asked for a 4 night session that might be stretching it.

72 Acres, 36 well spaced, immaculate swims. Don't know on number of members now but it used to be around 70-80, don't think there will be many more.

So despite paying 2 grand a year he only wants you to fish a maximum of 2 nights a week? And its closed for 2 months a year. Is spawning closure on top of that? Plus any other necessary closures.

It is what it is, Grenville will suit some, not others, like most waters. If you are interested contact the owner, discuss and make your own mind up.

And there is certainly no brown nosing, be fair with the owner and he will be fair with you. Take the piss and you won't be on there long, which is how any good syndicate should be run.

Got to admit this would really put me off 48hrs is the minimum I do, I normally fish a 48hr once a month and then a 3 or 4 day once a month aswell

If what has been written on here is accurate that is one money making machine. If the fishery is open 300 days a year as has been said and has 36 swims available that provides 4,400 48 hour sessions available for permit holders. If every permit holder uses their full entitlement fishing 1 session in every seven days they can do 43 sessions. A realistic number of permit holders is 100 rather than the 80 or so mentioned. This would keep the lake full but not over subscribed and allowing for the fact that people will not fish every session then 150 is more than feasible. Of course there may only be 50 members or less to keep things quiet and exclusive

These are not exact calculations and are based on info from this thread. A possible £300,000.00 gross pa from permits alone is one hell of a take. Makes you think

Simple arithmetic says 100 anglers fishing 2 days out of 7 in the ten months the lake is open will not overload the lake in terms of swim availability. In reality many of those anglers will not fish every one of their available sessions, especially as it seems to be frowned on. 150 would be very manageable. The numbers don't lie. Check them out in my previous post. Happy to be proved wrong.
