If anyone is unsure how fickle these Carping names are now look no further than Mr Hamidi at the moment.
The resignation details all over social media were cringeworthy, I almost thought Boris Johnson was going to call a national day of mourning........the way he was bleating on it was like someone had died.....he left his employer for a new venture, big bloody wow....
And now he's posting clips using Fox gear and saying how fantastic it is after years of nothing but Korda, Trakker, Daiwa and Delkim being the best of the best.....
Lets have it right, most "name" anglers will change their backers at the drop of a hat if they are going to get a bit extra, there's some that have had more sponsors/partners than I've had hot dinners......but the sheep will always follow.

But regards the tackle, if I'd been contracted to use certain brands for the last 20 years, I think I'd be quite keen to try out some other stuff. I think it's his mate Zamora who is sponsored by fox so he was probably the conduit to Ali getting the free fox stuff.

It's a real shame that for 20 years he never got to see what the competitors were producing. It does clear up one thing for carp anglers though, it turns out everything we thought were copies of other products were not, turns out it's all been coincidence

Weird. I'm sure this is an argument that's been had on here a thousand times. But he's paid to use / promote certain brands, so that's what he does. Nobody ever calls it fickle when F1 drivers change teams or tennis players use a different make of racquet. I don't understand why you think it's fickle. It's literally his job to promote tackle so that's what he does.

I say a big fair play to the lad,firstly he's a RED so I can never dislike him ,but also he's got himself into a position in a specific field where he sees a business opportunity and makes a break for it ,surly that's common day practice in all industry ,the ones who take the risks are the ones who can (not always) make a brand a success and I'm sure Ali can and will ,as for China ,isn't most of it now made over there or places similar ,business is business ....and lest be honest if your employed most of us think our boss is a cnut...so why not be your own boss ....

It's God, then if he decides to pack it in, then it goes to Jesus, then his deputy if you check companies house is someone called “the Holy Ghost”, which is a bit vague, can't find out what he does really.
So I'd say Ali was probably better off going it alone as I think he will be waiting a long time to get that gig. Seems like they like to keep the power in the family.
