The spawnbound Wingham fish should have taken the record, much like the spawnbound mid-northants fish did back in the 90's when Roddy Porter and then Alex White held the record. No different IMO. That would have given us a few more years for any fish to catch it up.

Sounds like a great plan!

As has also been pointed out there is a sustainability issue. All the great record fish of this country were older fish that have lived long lives. Slowly putting the weight on naturally. Big rig, jack and now this one Marshall is it?? They don't live long because they are bred to pack weight on fast and subsequently their body can't cope and they die it's not sustainable or tbh ethical, we as anglers already get c**p from non anglers that we are cruel despite the care we take of the fish when we catch one, don't think we need to add force fed pellet pigs to the list
