I was not just talking about the comparisin in this thread i have heard lads compare and im sure i saw it in an older thread on here. Look awesome reels but people alwsys get a bit carried awsy with new toys i know i do. I thought my emblems were the best ever till i got xt's now i think they are unbeatable

Perks of the job Jim That's one I made/designed for my own personal use, as it was designed to fold up and fit into the side pouch on my Army Issue Bergan, also only weighs 900 gram complete.

I had a play with one if the reels when I received delivery on Tuesday night and was very impressed.
Last night I got the other one out if the box and realised that when I turn the handle there is a faint scuffing sound when the rotor reaches the same point. Whereas the first reel was nearly silent and did not make this sound. I know that a different sounding reel may not be enough of a reason to send it back, but I welcome your opinions.
To the untrained ear (my missus as im holding a spinning reel towards heat ear, changing reels and followed by me saying "Do you hear that?"), there is no difference. But to me, I know that it is there and will annoy me. Is it wrong to expect perfection and should I learn to deal with this minor issue?

I bet if you take the Spool off the noise goes - as it will be the Wiper Blade that stops the Line going behind the Spool.
It will go with use.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately it makes no difference. I thought that may have been the case, so I swapped the spools over and took the spool off.

just check there are no qc stickers or anything silly left or a bit of paper stuck behind the rotor.
ive taken a reel back once that was making a scraping sound and it turned out to be one of those little oval qc stickers had peeled off and got inside the gap in the rotor housing
rather red faced in the shop when they sorted it in seconds

Using mine tonight.for the first time, really impressed so far, they feel a lot lighter than my old shimanos, and there really smooth. Al put done pics up tomoz
