There are a lot of unvaccinated 50 and 60+ year olds, they are clogging up the service.
It's not kids or young adults, there are figures that prove it. Still disproportionately high in the peer group I agree.. but they are not the ones putting pressure on services, the numbers are minuscule.

Take London hospitals as an example already as their overrun already with non vaccinated Covid victims
That's simply wrong and I provided the data earlier on this thread from the ONS! Approx 8000 in hospital and 5000 are vaccinated!
I also read a report that the majority of unvaccinated is made up of ethnic minorities over the age of 60.......they don't trust the Government.......

The data was outdated? London has a specific issue due to low takeup of the vaccine, you can see this clearly in the data widely circulated.
You do accept were in a pandemic?
Maybe some of those that are unvaccinated believed the crap they saw on social media, forums etc..... And as a result these people have sadly lost a battle with Covid.

Letting it rip will not provide natural immunity.
The mere fact that people are getting it twice would surely show that to be a very flawed approach. I've already mentioned the findings from ZOE that suggest only 80% get immunity from contracting the virus. Post exposure immunity isn't lasting very long, just as has been seen with the vaccines. Until better vaccines come along the safest way is to keep immunity high and sickness low through vaccinations, ventilation, masks, testing and isolation.
Letting it rip will result in a huge death toll, both from the virus and from the collapse (or at least the stretching) of the NHS. Add in the disruption to essential services, deliveries, policing, education and so on from large amounts of the workforce sick/isolating and the cost to the economy will also be massive. That's before you factor in the long-COVID sufferers.

The data I used was up to EOW 49 or 9th of December. I will check if the data has been updated yet but suspect it won't be until the end of this week.

Who will be paying for the isolation and loss of revenue to businesses? Because once the business die, their tax contributions die along with them; as well as the staff's tax, who subsequently enter the benefit system.

Again it's all very divisive. I absolutely resent that my tax will be used to pay for the furlough payments claimed by Trump's golf courses, or Branson's airline or some other millionaires whatever. But, that's the divisive reporting getting under my skin, because the cleaner in the bar at Trump's golf course isn't a millionaire and needed help and I'm the first person to advocate that.. .

We are a very rich country, we can afford to protect ourselves from death and economic devastation. And we don't need to borrow a penny from the markets or screw the 95% with austerity to pay it back.
Without workers the businesses will fail. Proper sick pay would help reduce transmission, people have been banging on about it since the furlough scheme started.
As for my role in the 77th, well, it's a full hands up. I've spent nearly 17 years and 2,500 posts cultivating this deep cover persona of a lefty remainer because that is undoubtedly the best way to convince the likes of you to listen to sense and do the right thing.
