just respooled with 18lb synchro - seems identical and absolutly no issues.

Its pretty wild! gone curly - not sure i will buy again. I have 2 spools though so will use that first. Back to good old diawa sensor clear , atleast its cheap and not a worry to respool a lot.

thx, to replace my discontinued old CM90 18LB, looks like i'm going with Gardner GT-HD 18lb line 0.39 830M at £21...unless someone here says this line has also go down hill lol!😱
yeah diawa sensor 18lb is a lot cheaper than GT-HD above, but the line & hooks are the most important for me so not about price...

Im an ex syncro user, also spooled with 18lb gthd, had problems with it coiling, springing off spool, it wouldnt behave.
God knows why I chose 18lb, anyrate, replaced with 15lb gthd and happy enough with it, a little line twist, but not a real issue.
Not completely sold on it, but far better than the NEW syncro xt.

I think we all need start telling the retailers about the issues,ESP said that theyve had no complaints from the shops about xt.It seemed strange for them to say that as one shop I was in a few weeks ago said they've had a few and even spoke to esp about it

In terms of a comparison, I actually booked time off work to go fishing.
I had one rod with the newish syncro XT, and two with the older stuff that ESP sent me.
Probably irrelevant but I was using SS3000s with Tournie spools and upgraded rollers on all 3. Line was 12lb XT on all 3 rods
Fishing zigs and bags in the bowl of B2 at 28 to 30 rod lengths. Had 11 fish, so gave it a pretty good test.
There is 100% a difference between the two lines. 2 spools with the old line were superb. Slick, easy to control, supple and no issues at all at that distance.
The newer line, was definitely a bit more effort to cast, and definitely behaves differently. It's more springy and tricky to manage, especially if slack. I do think that it sinks slightly better though.
Stretch and abrasion resistance seemed the same.
Ive fed this back to ESP and have asked to buy all of their old stock 😂
