From memory I received the standard 'if you care so much why don't you go and live there' comment...
Far bigger humanitarian disaster. I expect the main difference in coverage on the uk news stems from the simple facts that our government is complicit in the aggression... and that its brown people who are being killed / displaced...
But maybe I'm cynical

According to the Kremlin, in it's pathetic attempts to portray " there's two sides to every story" Hitler was Jewish. Therefore invading Ukraine to denazify the country with a genuinely Jewish president is justified, cause Jews "are the most ardent antisemites'

Russian troops liberating ethnic Russians in the Donbas who despite voting 97% to leave Ukraine in 2014... were subjected to 8 years of occupation, war and ethnic cleansing (20,000 killed and climbing, 2 million fled the region to Russia, 7 million displaced) on the end of Neo Nazi militias recruited from Western Ukraine who hate them! Their crime was wanting the govt they elected, which was overthrown in an EU/NATO/US backed coup using ultra nationalists and Neo Nazi groups from Western Ukraine! Eastern Ukrainian's were then told they could no longer speak their language, got fined for speaking it in schools and workplace, got occupied by Western Ukrainian Neo Nazi groups like the Azov Militia and the National Militia, had their city's, towns and villages renamed, had their Russian Orthodox church banned and blacklisted, those in the break away republics then had their schools, hospitals, church's, apartment blocks, homes, farms, industry, bridges, mines, roads and town centres bombed and shelled for 8 years... still ongoing! Nothing to see here claim the paid Ukrainian troll farms!
