In theory I agree scozza. But in practice you're just papering over cracks and those kids will end up 10 times worse. Too late for education once they're in jail or dead
Often I blame the parents, but sometimes it can be peer pressure or eagerness to fit in.

keep your daughter off school until the headmaster/mistress sorts the bullys. had the same problem with my daughter 2 yrs back and told her headmaster until you sort the offenders out ill not be returning my daughter to the school. soon as any child walks through them gates the head has a duty to protect any student. also the head should be in touch with the bullies parents if they have owned up and said she has anger issues.. throwing punches around sorts nothing just adds fire to the flames. it takes a bigger person to walk away.
