Uk carp anglers not buying some fishing tackle won't affect the Chinese economy. It's - excuse the pun - a drop in the ocean. And if the factory that makes blanks or whatever sees a decline in trade they'll simply diversify and make something else. This is business. They won't shut up shop because Nash or whoever stop ordering...
So - if this whole thing has made you more aware and you have a new found desire to make a positive impact in countries with poor human and animal rights records, find a body that fights this and donate.
Amnesty international is a good place to start. As is the Worldwide Fund For Nature / WWF.
Maybe do both. Stop buying goods that are from the places you disapprove of AND donate to those who actively fight them on a day to day basis.
Try matched funding. For every quid you spend on bait, make a like for like donation.
It's just a thought.

What is left in hospitals at the moment if nhs stops buying in china? All europe is extremely dependant on med stuff from china... Hopefully this will this will sober up people but I doubt as it is all about profits...
