Been following this thread for quite a while and have read through pretty much everything. Completely agree with the dangers to the fish of this product, something that should have been considered from the start of development.
Putting all of that aside, I think the fact that I can't see how the product actually works the way it's claimed makes it even more embarrassing. In my opinion it's simply an active elasticated/sprung rig. The spring only comes into play once the full mass of the lead is used to overcome the locked arms. Then regardless of the force of the spring, it still can only act against the lead, so can't exert more force than the mass of the lead itself (which the hook has already seen when the spring was activated).
For example, assuming the spring had 20z of energy to exert, it can only react against the lead, therefore, it would just move the lead towards the fish, not 'pull' the hook into the fish anymore than the mass of the lead. (this ignores the initial need of 20oz of force to activate the spring)
To me it simply is an overly complicated(and dangerous) way to have an elasticated rig.

The spring can only increase force upon the attached element that has the least mass, so unless your fishing for Gudgeon for example, the retained energy in the spring will act upon the lead, not the fish. It can't really make any difference to the hooking potential if the fish has already picked up the lead required to activate it.

Just had a look on his Facebook page, I didn't realise there were so many fanboy sheep out there blowing smoke up his @rse. The first time I saw this monstrosity it made me shudder, I can't understand there's that many people that think this is the business.
