This could have all been avoided, yet the maniacs dictating in our European countries and the US have clearly proven to be the school yard bullies/World Police that they are. For years Russia took being poked in the eyes, now it's abundantly clear to anyone that they have had enough of it and are taking steps to address their genuinely held grievances. Russia will suffer inflation due to having their central bank targeted by way of sanctions, which if the analysts are correct, they'll be able to ride it out, for example their stockpiles of gold which they've been buying up for a long time now which will come in to play to help offset any difficulties.
We will suffer, the price of oil/gas/food is going to rocket, some unfortunately are going to be hit really hard, all because they (our overlords) decided to go at Russia full steam ahead.
There is hope, hope that some sort of agreement can be thrashed out and that the Ukrainian government will come to it's senses and go the way of being a neutral country as I've previously suggested.
I didn't think that Russia would ever invade Ukraine, that came as a huge surprise to me that they did, the fact that Putin has now said that he's essentially hovering over the nuclear buttons, our misleaders need to take him very seriously indeed. We're all at a very frightening juncture in time, one would hope that the fools running our countries don't make any fatal mistakes that could get us all killed.

Again utter tosh, no one has been poking anyone, weve been living in europe in pretty much perfect harmony, except russia invading the Crimea, and russia invading the provinces of Ukraine, and now a full scale invasion of Ukraine. Blame the west as much as you want, but, theres no missiles, no war that Putin want you to believe in, that's no Nato, it believes in peace, in fact they've done particularly well not to sanction russia for their 2 invasions of Ukraine. One person is responsible for what is going on, and now in my view needs to be eliminated by whatever means

Russia has been "cleansing" the Ukraine for centuries.
He has invaded without the full backing of his military in a half cocked manner with inexperienced personnel who are throwing down their arms because they refuse to kill their neighbours. Over 4000 dead or injured after being met with a very stiff and under estimated Ukrainian army.
He has no chance of winning in this manner against 30 million people armed with guns and superior grit in a guerrilla war through the streets of Ukraine. The only way he will win is to bomb the granny out of it. If he chooses that way he will continue to alienate Russia from the rest of the world.
He is embarrassing Russia in the eyes of the world. The citizens will eventually no longer stand for it. You can bet your life that even within his circle there are people plotting to have him 'removed.'

As always, innocent people killed and lives ruined because of selfish, greedy politicians.
Putin is a bully and a warmonger. And he has been allowed to be for years by a series of British, US and European governments who have not just facilitated his behaviour but have actively rewarded it.
Make no mistake about what's behind the 'outrage ' from various world leaders. It's about money and resources. Russia and Ukraine are responsible for a huge percentage of oil, gas and wheat production and supply. On the basic hierarchy of needs we are talking about warmth and sustenance. So putin wants to control more of it. And others don't want him to.
The stance / sanctions/ sending of 'lethal aid' isn't about protecting people. If it was, then Boris, Biden and the rest wouldn't stand by while war and the wider effects continue to destroy lives in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen etc.
We can only hope that putin doesn't completely lose it and actually use a nuclear weapon.

It's not something I know enough about to have a valid opinion. Though you wouldn't find me at the front of the queue congratulating the Ukrainian response of pissing off a nuclear superpower and endangering the entire world population.

But if you was Ukrainian you'd have to fight for your country regardless of what will happen in the future, everything you've ever know is under threat, regardless of the nuclear threat you have to take the short term first, which is defend your country
