I've a few v good friends currently members, and a few who are ex members, all love/loved their time on there.
Your comments about Paul are perhaps a little understated, according to my friends lol

I take your points again.
It must have cost a small fortune to fence that place off. On the money sides of it, it's what it is. If you want to fork out £1800 quid - that's what he was asking at the time and said that it would go up each year when I spoke to him - then that's what it is.
Don't get me wrong, other than what I've said about my telephone conversation with the guy, I've no beef with the bloke. I wholeheartedly applaud anyone that's puts it on the line and is successful at the end of it. My beef is the sheer number of fish, and like I've said, I don't see it any differently to fishing a match lake crammed full of fish, with this fishery it's just on a bigger scale with larger fish. It reminds me of a video I saw some years back of businessmen in Japan going on the roof of their place of work on their lunch break for some relaxation time and fishing tanks filled with fish, in a weird sort of way, to my mind, the similarities are striking.
If the numbers of fish were smaller, I'd more than likely warm to the place, as it is, it's not my cuppa and all very meritless and forgettable in the scheme of things.

when i got offered to join, i declined for reasons i explained earlier....he got the arse with me cause i said "thank you, but my heads not right"
dont think he understood nor had many decline.
hes a dam good shot on the clays though

Really glad I started this thread, didn't think there would be so many responses and quite surprised by a few of them. Shame I no longer live in Bedfordshire and am not 40 years younger, I would have been more than happy to have fished the place given the chance.

His long term idea/investment is protected by the otter fence and strict rules. His Stock fish choice and loads of baits over the years have certainly helped to stack the weight on, to become what it is. Glad he put some scaley ones in they as it was a bit big and bland. It needed it.
Carp fishing has become a bit of a monster, a victim of it's own success, the mags, marketing and social media all drive for bigger fish, pounds and ounces, makes this sort of places more appealing. You pay your money, you make your choice.
