I don't think Kevin would promote the PB product they are a direct rip off of the original butt bungee.

That's a good question I don't use stage stands from what I understand the fish took line the rod then moved forward and the line was able to lock up around the reel. The force of the reel then hitting the buzz bar caused the stage stand to fall forward into the lake.

Surely the butt rest should stop the rod pulling forward? I thought these straps were to stop a rod being pulled upward out of the rest

The rod locker applies a downward force this will also reduce its ability to move forward.
