This may well be the reason that the BAME community is more seriously affected by COVID than the rest, they apparently don't synthesise Vitamin D as well as lighter skinned people. We also get less Vitamin D during the winter due to less sunlight, which may also explain the peak in serious reactions during winter.
I would urge everyone to buy Vitamin D and zinc supplements as well as a general multi vitamin to boost their intake of those, as well as eating sensibly, and staying as fit as possible.
As to the great reset, my other half is well into all the conspiracy theories, it causes some friction in our house as I am not so quick to believe them, why does Bill Gates want more money? He gives most of his away to the Bill Gates Foundation anyway! She has stockpiled food so we have 3 months worth of food anticipating a massive shortage due to lockdowns, Brexit etc etc , doesn't seem to have happened yet.
She also believes COVID is nothing worse than the flu and won't wear a mask as she thinks they do more harm than good.
I have lost two clients to COVID in the last month, both were old (70+) but they certainly weren't due to die yet had they not got COVID. One client of mine has lost his wife and only daughter within a week. Try telling him it's nothing worse than a cold.

Funny that. My missus has worn one for most of the day for the last 20odd years and it hasn't hurt her (along with all the other surgeons/theatre staff). Unfortunately

In her defence there is a huge difference between a surgical mask worn properly and changed between patients and a cloth mask worn for hours/days in a row without being cleaned and getting moist and providing a breeding ground for viruses etc and also preventing people breathing clean fresh air properly.
Having said that I wear a mask whenever I need to go in a shop etc. not only for my own protection but also to protect others and make them feel safer.

That's the problem, there is a significant number of younger people who, because the virus poses little of no threat to them, don't take any precautions. They're the ones who take it home to mum/dad, gran/grandad.

Mal I've been making covid test tube holders today as the missus school weren't issued with any. Could moan about it but I took a leaf out of her book and just got on with it.
Some teachers like to moan, they'll be the ones who'll keep the schools closed until 2022

I do hope that I'll be able to do nights when it gets a bit warmer. Not too downbeat that I can't do the nights, more bothered about baiting up before the fish start mincing about a bit more.
On the effects of being stuck at home:
I did strike me that kids, like really young kids, their development must be so dramatically affected by not being able to interact with other kids outside of their immediate family. Stuff like not being selfish otherwise you get excluded from the group, like general social learning.

It's to stop people travelling miles to go to a water - if they can't stay overnight not many people are going to travel 4hrs each way to fish for a couple of hours.....
As much as the govt are useless f**kers, its hard to blame them when 400 people gather for a wedding in a bit of london with 1.5x the average infection rate. Or 4 people who aren't related travelling a 200 mile round trip to go to McDonalds. We had a couple from Kent turned around on Exmoor as they'd come to see the snow, and knew they shouldn't go to Wales

Something we were speaking about today. Our 3 year old granddaughter didn't play with another child at all during 1st lockdown. It certainly effected her ability to mix with other children for a while. Thankfully nurseries are currently still open, and she has that essential interaction 👍
