Whatever your beliefs, nobody is really benefiting from covid being around other than big pharmaceutical companies so 95% would be absolutely delighted to see it piss off for good! Don't confuse genuine fear for obsessiveness.

Genuine fear wouldn't be flying abroad on holiday, going down the pub, football matches, Olympics, European football tournaments, government parties etc etc etc. Genuine fear and genuine deadly high risk illness doesn't match up to what's happening.
Been trying to stay off these type threads but one for the conspiracy/new order/globalisation theorists.
Why are the boosters only Pfizer or Moderna at vastly inflated prices but not Astra Zenaca at cost plus a little bit?
The gravy train rolls on and until the money runs out there will be no end to new mutations, etc...
Had a really bad cold?flu with all the signs of Covid 8 weeks ago did as was told isolated and ordered a PCR test. This came back negative the next day, 3 days later after spending 4 hours snotting, coughing up phlegm and wrenching into the toilet called 111 only to be told by doctor that i have had Covid but the tests are only 85% correct. A day later felt like the whole world lifted off my shoulders and was right as rain but still haven't got my sense of smell and taste back fully. All through this my mrs slept in same bed and as she works from home every where else 24 hours a day. She didn't get a sniffle. 2 weeks later she gets a sore throat and cold and manages 4 days later to pass it to me with a sore throat, headache and cough. FFS what's going on?
Insult to injury on day of coming down with original thing i get a text to get my booster. So having had 3 vaccinations, flu jab, possibly Covid, and worked part time throughout the last 2 years, although the government forgot to tell me i should be shielding. What more can i do?

I'm firmly in the camp of we're all adults, nobody is doubting covid exists anymore, we just have to be adults and be sensible. I'll wear a mask and be conscious of other people but these lockdowns need to go.
The Jabs clearly don't work for transmission, the jabs don't prevent lockdown, masks do next to **** all, it's all placebo. We HAVE to get on with it not, Boris clearly thinks the same the way he carries on so I'll be doing the same. Shaggy haired no good *****.

Masks do work, unfortunately they are only as good as the end user
1) As seen, planks on here don't wear them, thus transmission takes place.
2) Not everybody wears their masks properly, many walk about with it below their nose or even below their chin.
3) Not all face covering are created equal, as seen by those that decide to just wear a woollen scarf.
4) Masks are effective, but can't cut transmissions to zero. There will always be some transmission.
5) People don't wear masks in their own house, so somebody gets the virus, goes home and infects their family.
6) Bearing in mind that people aren't going to wear masks their own house, in the poorer areas, you have often have multi-generational families. So not only the traditional unit of mum, dad and kids live in the dwelling, but also grandparents, uncles, aunties etc. Thus, if one person catches it and goes home, they infect numerous others in the dwelling

Again they are only as good as what the end user want them to be. You can get some which are 99.99% effective, or you can use your sleeve which is probably about 2% effective.

Vaccines do cut transmission. By reducing the viral load and cutting the length of time someone is capable of passing the virus on.
Story in the Telegraph about anti-vaxxers booking slots for vaccines they have no intention of using so preventing people who actually want or need them from getting jabbed. Nice way to underline a belief in freedom of choice. .

Unless you're wearing a full NBC suit or full hazmat suit, with gloves and that you do not use them again and use a new set every time, plus you fully disinfectant your food and it's packaging or anything else that others and then you come into contact with, you're basically pissing in the wind.
I've heard the analogy by an eminent scientist describe the effectiveness of those paper mask things that most wear. The analogy he gave was that imagine a house with scaffolding up and that you had a bag of marbles and threw them at the house, some would hit the scaffold poles, most would miss, that's how effective those masks are against a virus like this one.
If you wanna wear your face nappy and have it be some comfort to you like a comfort blanket, crack on.

Hadn't read that article or was aware that people are doing what you mention. That's very selfish act, even though I think the vax is well dodge. Whatever my personal beliefs, I'd never stand in the way of someone wanting to carry out what they deem fit for themselves.

Nothing is full proof, well except me blanking on my next trip out. But masks do work, it's just the effectiveness people need to know about.

Andy, proper masks with the valves work.......those paper things don't in enclosed spaces if you sneeze or cough......virus particles simply go out the sides or top......bearing in mind how transmissible OMi is then it's not going to take a lot of those airborne particles to infect someone.......

Those paper ones from what I have read are about 15-20% effective, which is quite a bit more than just f##k all, which has been mentioned. The multi layered ones which have a removable filter are probably one of the better ones to wear especially as they are reasonably cheap. You pays your money you takes your choice I suppose
