The problem with the orginal handle's can be solved by removing the little iron pin.
Thats the reason the folding is not like it should be..and can be a real pain..
Removed it from 1 reel and compared it to one that still has it atached.
It makes no difference when fully tensioned.
But when unscrewing it, it folds much easier..:-)

Great reels had them a while now one thing to check thou, on all 3 reels the anti-reverse switch screw was loose

Does anyone know what differences are between the old Penn Ltd Edition reel and the new version out this summer, was thinking about buying 3 but might wait if the problems mentioned are to be resolved

The ones this summer will have a baitrunners, if you have a look at the Kevin Ellis video they show them on there, along with some others that are coming out

What problems? As already mentioned, the screw on the anti reverse lever needs tighening up, but that's the only fault I can find with them

I was under the assumption that they were reworking the handle and grip
. If its just a baitrunner version being brought out this summer then I must of misread something else where.

We'll I thought the same thing regarding the handles.
But as I remember when watching the Kevin Ellis JRC blog , the Penn rep I,m sure said something about having a choice of handles

I messaged KP spares once as they usually cover the pure fishing stuff but they said they dont deal with reels....
They told me to contact QM service who did sort me out a spare spool for a reel... Contact details below:

Reckon they must of forgotten to tighten them in the factory. When I had a set a while back, I had to tighten all of mine and on inspection of the display model in the shop, that was loose too, so I warned them so they could tighten all the stock models up before sale.

Been faultless, are a joy to use. In fact I'm thinking about getting two more to go on my River Rods

Love mine. Like the previous posts cant fault them .. although im still waiting to hear back from Quentin for when they have the wooden handles in!!
