I bought a pack of the wide gape size 6 today for a runs water I'm taking my lad on tomorrow,love the aggressive in turned eye, sharp out the packet and for £2.40 who cares if they only last 1 fish,not fussed about no Teflon coating. I think they look decent hooks. would I fish a low stocked pit for a pb with them,probably not but they look decent for a runs water.

Personally I wouldn't have anything given with NGT on..

I bought a 9ft 4 piece carp rod a few years ago for fishing on
The pier in lanzarote, first cast snapped on the retrieve. Managed to bodge
it back together. Year after bought another as I thought it may have been a
defect but same happened again.. I've never snapped a rod in my life. I even used
to have a £10 telescopic rod for the pier that never snapped. I now have a rovex
8ft 4 piece bass rod and it's a dream.

Having said that, some parts of the Basix range I'm sure will be in my game as
they will have good build quality at a lesser cost.

Agree though 1 thing I won't be changing is my hooks..
