If its to expensive then dont buy it its thats simple. I own loads of jag gear and dont mind paying the premium as it bloody good gear so i think its worth it personally.

That's absolutely right. The lockdowns with the release button are quite a unique product and I haven't seen anything else like them or certainly something that will do the same job at 15% of its price.
My point is I bought the MOD camera adapter thread for £2.99 add a good quality bankstick and it's what? £10-£15 tops?? Does the same thing and will last ages and I'm not saying JAG gear is pants, I like it, but personally £65 is taking the ***.

I have owned obelisk, solar, cygnet and JAG in the last 20 years. Of the 4 makes of stuff I only had issues with one falling apart. Thats was the JAG unfortunately. Credit where its due there after sales was absolutely spot on, no questions, immediate replacement. I had a friend, exactly the same issue. So lets have some balance. I suspect the stainless is superb build quality (I have never owned any) but I can get cygnet black ally gear that lasts years for a fraction of the price wheras my pro-lite black bankstick failed at the glue joint on its 2nd outing. Hopefully they sort it out as I try and support UK based business wherever I can.

If you look at some of the chinese tat thats available these days at premium prices then its is value for money for a precision uk made bit of kit. The cnc machines that they use to make these things are hundreds of thousands of pounds. There not made by kim dong chow on his peddle powered lathe in some chinese sweat shop.

To be fair I've been out for dinner with them and those guys can put away a lot of Chinese food I can tell you.

If you look at the price of the 20 inch excavator bankstick plus a camera adaptor, you'd have to say they are pulling your pants down with the cost of the bank sticks if you think that about the camera stick.
I ended up making my own bankstick adaptor as none of the ones available did what I want

Well it's not £4 and yes it's good value imo and that's the crux's of it. Good value is of cause opinion based. I recall getting a Bivvy Matt when they first came out, at the time people suggested alternatives and how over priced they where. For me £20 was fine and when there is frost on the boards I fish it soon takes place by my rods preventing me from breaking my neck on the odd occasion.
£65 isn't a shocking cost for the camera stand yes an alternative system can be put together for a third of the price if one so wishes to do so.

I wouldn't put Jag at Mercedes level to be honest, (I don't think anyone is regarding bankware to be honest) more like Ford, reasonably sound and reliable but can be overpriced for what it is.........they are becoming like Cotswold Aquarius and people are slowly waking up to the fact that they aint all that!
I had the 2 plus one bars and had constant problems with the levers either over-tightening or becoming slack and had an alan key permanently in my kit bag!
