Yep it's a bit of a freak accident.
Let's face it the fish is one of those crap modern import things, Israeli or whatever, soft as grease the way that tail came off. Listen to the guy and the goons laughing and playing while dealing with the fish, that's one thing I really don't like. Even if it's a nod fish, handling a lively big fish is serious stuff, not playtime. Can't help but feel for the guy though.....bloody live streaming!

Disagree on one thing Noj, although incredibly unfortunate it was the anglers fault, it was totally avoidable if the rules were followed.
Of course it could have happened to any of us on any fishery with completely different rules.....it was just a complete freak.....but that doesn't absolve the angler of blame for not following the rules.
Like I said though, no point throwing him to the wolves, he didn't do it on purpose and will no doubt be devastated at what happened but will get a complete battering on social media regardless.
If one positive comes out of it then it will be that walled and framed mats become a thing of the past.....the ESP quickdraw type are the future for me...

Let's have it right . We all have pulled strokes , and not stuck exactly to the rules. Weather it be a snide rod or fishing slightly out of bounds. But he was live streaming on a social platform for 1000s of eyes to see and was breaking the rules end of . This could happen to anyone and it could . We all use this types of carp mats and years ago we were using rolled up mats and laying them down on the grass . It wasn't just what happens to the fish . It's about what happened after also. Was it reported to the owner , or did he find out through the video. I'm sure we know the answer . The fish was put back swiftly and will no doubt die down to a secondary infection . If you use social networking to improve your career weather it be fishing or anything else . When crap hits the fan be prepared to take what comes with it
