That's why I said "most" Greg......any new policies will definitely have the exclusion. If you took out a specific policy to cover your trip before March last year these will be few and far between now....even so, they would still expect the holiday provider to give a solution, if he chooses not to it doesn't mean insurers would automatically pay!

Not redundant no as it will still cover non covid related issues, like medical cover not related to covid, but not cancellation due to covid.
I booked this year's trip 3 years ago, have an annual insurance policy in place that has confirmed cancellation cover for me as long as I continue cover with them. Last year's renewal more than doubled in cost (was just after March lockdown) and waiting to see what this renewal brings but have zero choice and they know it.

You may still have to self isolate when you come back in as well if there's different strains around. Being vaccinated doesn't stoop you carrying/transmitting diseases, just dying from it lol

There are more and more cases of vaccinated people getting infected and spreading it especially with southafrican strain, so I really wouldnt count on any sort of vaccination passport or anything like that, at least not for a very long time yet...

If and when French trips are allowed this year, just remember that under current travel rules you will need a negative covid test to enter the UK.....this means that on the Thursday of your trip you will have to all go to a testing centre and get the dreaded test at a cost of 60 euros.....obviously this will need to be booked in advance....as to what happens if one or more of your group test positive, well who knows....I imagine you will need to leave the lake and find somewhere to stay til you are clear, you will certainly be unable to stay at the lake....good luck with that!!

Under the rules in place at the moment we are not going so picking bits out of the current guidelines is largely irrelevant.
We will have to wait and see what the requirements are as and when the travel restrictions change.

As lake owner I know that BUT you will be allowed to travel here later this year just reminding people that the almost certainly WILL need a negative test to get back to UK and it will cost them.....just saying be prepared for it......hopefully we can open soon and welcome our anglers back......if anyone tests positive they will need contingency plans
