China is not Europe. So things might stay smooth for Great Britain if the relationship between these two countries is pretty friendly. However, I noticed a sudden price increase in pills and necessary things. GB is an authority, powerful country, but it struggles with relations, and people suffer through inflation, high taxes, and reduced income. I did a lot of thinking and concluded I needed a loan to survive and make a decent living for my family. I opened bank accounts and took loans in international banks with the help of generate pay stubs. I need to ensure my future!

I only buy £1-£3 packets of beads, swivels etc on ebay from China and I haven't been charged anything extra as yet. It's so cheap if they did slap anything on it, I'd just **** it off and leave it personally 🤣

But the reality is, HMRC haven't got time to look at a £1 packet of beads (example) and if they were to slap a shedload of charges on to such a package most folks would just walk away anyway. I have just received 100 PVA bags from China for a few pounds delivered, and interestingly the seller marked them as worth 50p on the shipping dec. It's happening left right and centre.

RigDemon. HMRC are no longer involved directly.
The responsibility to charge VAT was forced upon Ebay back in 2021.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/global-sales/2021-vat-changes#:~:text=From%201%20March%202021%2C%20eBay,EU%20sites%20when%20listing%20items.

A great many cheaper items seem to be ignored...once you get into the £10 plus bracket then you appear to get stung more often....often unknowingly as it it not shown on the listing that VAT has been added just if you go to "See Invoice" or check bank accounts.
Editing the search criteria to show just UK items no longer prevents this either as if the item is listed as being in the UK but the seller is registered outside of the UK then VAT may be applied.
Ebay also attempted to clamp down on sellers that listed "Gift or Sample" or with a reduced price on the shipping manifest labels to avoid extra charges being incurred but that mostly failed.

A great many blamed Brexit for this..It was only that there was a shakeup of how HMRC operated and how VAT and duty was to be implemented around the same time that gave the impression that Brexit was the cause, USA and China never being in the EU to start with.
Are you sure?

This action cannot be undone.
