you may change your mind the extension bit is so you can use a AA battery
the red option on the NU25 on the high setting is like red daylight but of course just playing with it at home is completely different to being in the dark on the bank

Might dig it out then as the lithium ones are quite dear but they do last ages. The rechargeable function i admit is an excellent bonus on the nitecore 👍🏻
Ive tried red lights before when fishing and i cant get on with them. I have a ridgemonkey bivvy light with red and green lights but never use it and my petzl headtorch i used to have had a red light. Im on medication for my eyes to bring the pressure down in them as my dad is blind and has glaucoma and its hereditary so things are even more blurry under a red light.

Good question on the red light I just overlooked it.
I kept the Fenex in the bag in case I needed more light but never found I did. You're right it's fine on the lowest setting but was no different to the Energizer I also carried for its red light.
For me the convenience of being able to charge it was a game changer. I was always checking my batts using those expensive metered Duracell's and binning them when they got low so they didn't fail on me on the Energizer which gets expensive.
With the Nitecore I just like topping up after a session and knowing it will be full charged whenever I use it. I find the strap really comfy and the torch is very light making it comfortable to wear at night. How long the battery will last we'll have to see but I reckon it'll pay for itself in batts easily.

Got mine off amazon for £35 and turned up the next day. It was only going to save me £11 at the other place so just got it off amazon.
