Sold an old Shimano Big Baitrunner a few years ago on Ebay. Sent it by Hermes Insured delivery. It was signed for. Buyer claimed he never received it. Hermes said they would not pay out the insurance because I hadn't paid for a signature, despite the fact that it had been signed for.
To cut a long story short I said I would refund the buyer once the police had spoken to him about the theft, never heard another thing from him.
However I think it's a lot easier for scammers to claim through Paypal now.

There are idiots out there with everything internet related. However, common sense should always prevail and in my experience , the good E-Bayers far outweigh the bad ones.
