Interesting to read peoples thoughts on this..
When your tackle is stored at your home in your shed, do you leave it unlocked? No, you would highten the security (alarm,cctv etc) Or as some people are saying 'find a new lake' do you buy a new house in a wealthy area where it'll be 'secure' to be left unlocked??
Not for everyone it will be feesable, so you still have to fish these lakes because they are cheaper to fish.
Also..no where is secure these days wether it be a mansion or a well known complex.
Do you not think it's best to be prepared for scumbags?
I do, which is why i leave a telescopic police baton in my sleeping bag.

The best one I saw on a water near me,a bloke was packing up as I got to the lake.He got all his kit together,walked to the bivvy next door got the barrow loaded it up and ****ed off.I assumed they were friends fishing together,until the other guy woke up and went into a huge rage as his barrow had gone

Not theft but annoying, I remember mid 90's buying a Carp Porter from Hinders on the way to St Johns, got to my swim easier than I'd ever done with my brand spanking new barrow. Anyway some young lads behind me are struggling with their gear carrying it all round and ask to borrow it, I thought why not that was me last week. Anyway, they then proceeded to massively overload it, obviously it tipped at some point and tried to stop it and in the process bent one of the handles, not happy but live and learn, managed to bend it back and it lasted for years that thing
