Going through it myself been self isolating since last week started with the mad cough, then couldn't talk without my throat and lungs burning started coughing up blood in my phlegm and also had sickness and high temperatures on my head and chest but that went as quick as it started. Luckily touch wood im almost through it. My chest is still not great and had pains in my kidneys this morning. The issue I have with the government is they should've locked down weeks ago and only haven't due to the economy as they dont want the pound to drop. They will only test you if your basically rushed in dying as there's not enough tests which I've been told by 2 different doctors over the phone. My mother in law is a nurse and she's worse than me and she cant even get tested so whatever figures they show is not a true account of how many people do actually have it as it doesn't affect everyone the same.

Jesus mate sounds awful, there's no doubt although the angler in me is gagging to get out and no idea how I'll cope with no angling for potentially the next few months or more lol, hearing stuff like that and obviously everything going on in our country, Europe and the rest of the world, angling clearly can wait and really I guess we need to focus on staying safe and not putting others at risk.
Nice bit of input from everyone, with plenty of time on my hands in the coming weeks can see me on here a lot more than I have been in the past.

There was a study in Italy a couple of weeks ago. They tested a huge number of people in an infected village and I think that for every one person that was ill, another ten had the virus but with absolutely no symptoms.
I'm glad you are on the mend. Even if you didn't have the actual virus, whatever it was sounds nasty. But from what you've described I bet you've had it.

Worst thing is in my situation you dont actually know if you've had it and have built up some sort of immunity to it or if it's some of type of other mad flu cos they wont test because the nhs dont have the funds.
Believe me I cant wait to get the rods out I've been driving the misses crazy watching fishing on YouTube and I reckon she will divorce before my 2 week isolation is up lol

Been told by 2 doctors they believe it is the virus but unless I deteriorate where I'm rushed into a isolation ward then I will never know. My wife has only had a headache and my 2 young girls have only had a slight cough thank god. So reckon the Italian village thing is probably quite accurate. I'm lucky tho only just gone through pneumonia in December so thought it would hit me a lot harder. Will say tho I've eaten huge amounts of manuka honey medical grade and broccoli and a lot of fruit which has seemed to ease the symptoms

Blimey you have been lucky then if your lungs were already weakened. One thing I've not really seen mentioned much again is the effect that smoking is having on the mortality rate. In the early stages in italy it was reported that one reason the death toll was so much higher was due to the high number of smokers. But recently that seems to be missing from the reports im reading.

I live in a seaside village and it was packed today with outsiders, absolutely shocking behaviour.
Obviously these people are not listening to advice and just don't care..... lock down the hotspots of infections like London ASAP I say. With any luck this will happen in the next week.

Two weeks ago Boris was in a hospital joking about how he was shaking hands with Corona patients. A few days ago he was talking about visiting his elderly mother for Mother's Day. On Tuesday (?) his dad was on TV telling people to go down the pub. On Friday the schools were open.
It's no good railing against the public for failing to understand the seriousness of the situation when it hasn't been taken seriously. The messaging is very, very mixed. Most people don't watch the news. Most people don't trust politicians. This is all well known and the government is not acting in a way that takes it into account.
Lockdown, 24/7 public info messaging. Every other country is doing it and they have more hospital capacity than us. It's the only thing that will work.

You can't blame politicians for people ignoring advice. Were being told clearly what to do, you see this on the tele, in papers, on the radio, across social media.... its everywhere....
