I wouldn't go that far, but firmly believe that somehow the social media companies are listening, obviously alexa is listening, as it's what it's designed to do.

As we are being told that this is a much weaker variant then would it not be a good idea to get as many boosters in arms as poss but leave the masks and social distancing etc alone? I mean surly if they let this thing circulate we could all pick up some natural antibodies which would leave us in a stronger position should a new variant come alone that is worse than we have had so far?
Look.......I know this may cause extra deaths and that's not something anyone wants but do you not think that one day we are just going to have to bite the bullet anyway?

Don't you realise that this sort of cobblers is written with the specific purpose of getting people to scream and shout how it's the end of the world? It's not even new tech.
They did the same when they told you the EU were going to take your three-pin plugs away...

There's now “leaked” information of an imminent circuit breaker lockdown coming, all of last year we saw these leaked plans prior to it being announced. I reckon that shaggy haired scruffy **** will do an announcement over the weekend.
Regardless, I can't wait to have a full house full of festivities

We aren't being told it's a much weaker variant yet. It's very early days and the data is patchy. The next two weeks is critical, if deaths stay low then yes, it is a blessing in disguise, but they still have to focus on numbers of people going into hospital beds etc, not just deaths.
Current best estimates put this variant at 30% less severe and 600% more transmissable. That would still mean the NHS is overwhelmed.
They don't know whether this variant is less severe because the virus produces less severe disease, or because it is infecting people who have antibodies from prior infection / vaccination.

You missing the point Mal......
Bit like the vaccine rollout at the beginning of the year.......do it, don't do it it's your choice.......12 months later let's discuss mandatory this and that!
I'm sure you could apply the same logic to microchips, have one of these to make life easier checking in to places, paying for stuff etc and entirely up to people if they want one......2-3 years later.....right it's time for mandatory microchip implants to protect blah blah blah!
Yes phones say so much about you but it's fairly easy to ditch a smart phone and go back to a simple phone isn't it.......
