Probably because it would slow down getting needles in peoples arms regardless of whether they needed it or not.

An antibody test is how they tested if it works and how they should monitor people's level of protection.
Surely if the covid goalposts keep moving so must the antibodies fighting it and we need to put more effort in to monitoring it.

It's been common knowledge for a while that covid is spread via the mouth and nose however new data suggests that its more likely to be a**holes....

The vaccine does make your body produce antibodies yes, and so does catching / recovering from covid.
You can have an antibody test but only in certain circumstances, government trials, NHS workers, ONS surveys etc.
Antibody testing would be a more sensible way of prioritising vaccination, it it was a quantitative test (i.e what is the level of antibodies present) maybe it is just qualitative (i.e. yes, no)
Just imagine right now how many millions of old people are being boosted when they have high antibodies anyway.

As was expressed before, the vaccine will give you the spike protein antigen.
Natural immunity will give you a broader range of antigens and theoretically cover more bases.
The most concerning part of this all is how the public are creating an us Vs them mentality, egged on by media.

Yep, Brexit first then the GE and then this........I was listening to some women who was receiving abuse from her own family. They were calling unclean, spreader etc......she sounded as low as you can get and wouldn't surprise me if she does something stupid.......

When the majority of people with covid in hospitals now are unvaccinated, you can quite easily see why the public do see it that way, especially when there is a reasonably good solution to minimize the impact, but for reasons unknown people dont go that route.

He's always going to be cautious in the face of limited data. Throughout this, they have always had to estimate the total number of infections, which is a big gap in the data.
As the days pass by though it's increasingly looking like it's not so bad, down to our high level of vaccination AND prior infection.... so we can all UNITE and take a share of the credit

You can still get antibody tests done for covid but you have to pay for it yourself through certain online pharmacies. I had one done last year at hospital after catching covid but the issue with the antibody test is that not everyone produces the same amount of antibodies and the tests only register that you've had covid if you have a certain amount of the antibodies in your system but they can tell if you had covid in the past by your t cell readings. My test came back negative for the antibodies but my t cell readings indicated according to the doctor that I had already had covid
