I know, me looking at things logically and without emotion using historical examples analyzing current events, as apposed to your purely emotional responses...
It's amazing that Russia has survived for so long with their terrible army. Must have been pure fiction that the Russians helped massively in WWII, and instead it was the plucky British daring do and good old Yankie firepower that snuffed out those pesky Nazis, amirite?

Substitute Kharkiv and Kyiv for Stalingrad and Leningrad. Comparable populations but in the modern world. The aggressor in the 40's was a far more professional, ruthless force than what we're seeing from the aggressor in 2022.

I wouldn't call myself emotional,patriotic more so..must of had it drummed into me having a father who was a royal marine green beret, got many many photos of his times in Suez,malta, cypress. still have family living in lympstone also..

You're looking at things from a NATO perspective. The Russians don't fight the same. Take for example having their (Russian) generals up front, the British don't fight like that. As I've changed me to understand, unlike the US who'll blanket bomb the whole place and seek agreements after, the Russians use diplomacy at the same time as being at war, diplomacy and war for the Russians is inseparable, that's part of the reason why Western media and to a greater extent the western leadership keep thinking parroting that the Russian advance isn't effective, add into the equation the time it takes to surround cities to then be able to create their caldron. There's also Western propaganda too which won't admit how well the Russian advance has been, the Pentagon on the other hand is well aware.

It's fugging awful is what it is. Arms flooded in from America yet again. Similar can be said of the people of Papua new guinea who have had the Indonesian government systematically mashing them into the ground genociding a people's with arms sold by the British for years and years.
