The **** storm will continue for a decade or more mate
Not sure any virus has ever been eradicated but plenty of people have starved and frozen to death during the ‘good times'
The deaths are horrific, I don't doubt that. Months on end of no economic activity will be catastrophic.

I didn't intentionally try to make it political but I'm sure those you mention are doing their stuff as well as Susan on Facebook or youtube.
I prefer to listen to the NHS, I don't believe in the conspiracy theories going around so if they've got it wrong then I believe at least they didn't do it on purpose.

They haven't got anything wrong at all it's just the way what is happening is being interpreted, a prime example to me is the 'Nightingale Hospitals'. Now as far as I can tell most people are taking that as a sure sign we are on the brink of Armageddon and that within the year life will be like a scene from a Mad Max film. Or could it be, as I see it, is it actually the case that the hospitals are being battered by this because they still have to deal with running the Oncology Wards, the Thoracic Wards, the Maternaity Wards, the A+E depts etc etc etc, none of the everyday stuff that a hospital deals with has gone away, so why not build temp hospitals where all the people riddled with CV can be put so as to let the hospitals return to dealing with all the **** they normally have to deal with and also get the infected away from all the other 'normal' patients?
But hey, maybe it's just me.

Isolation hospital's are nothing new. It's been done for thousands of years with plagues, disease etc. Some that were for TB I remember as a kid. It works.

That sounds the best use of a temporary hospital to me and thought that's what they would be used for.
I'm doing as I'm told and keeping indoors, not because I believe I will die if I get the disease but I don't want to unknowingly spread it to someone who I may never meet but won't be able to cope and may sadly will die.

Something about the numbers we are being given doesn't seem to add up to me:
10,000 cv cases, 1,200 hospitals in the uk (including private) shouldn't our hospitals be able to handle these extra people? That's about 8-9 extra patients per hospital (assuming all have been hospitalised).

It's not as simple as that mate.
Think of the other contributing factors.
Expected increase over the coming weeks
Huge numbers of NHS staff unable to work
Specific need for intensive care and isolated facilities.
So many other things alongside the basic numbers that make the maths of cases divided by hospitals a redundant figure
Edit - it's a bit like saying there are 250 carp in the lake and 10 anglers, so they will all catch 25 fish....
It's not as simple as that mate.
Think of the other contributing factors.

The distribution of cases isn't uniform. Large population area's seem to show rapid plumes of infections, overwhelming the area's hospital capacity. Plus you've had a 10 year drive to make the NHS "more efficient" that means you cut out over capacity as it's deemed a waste. Not so good when a pandemic hits you.

That said, I'm sure there's hundreds of thousands of cases worldwide going untested, possibly millions

There is something not right about the virus,how it started and how it's spread
If you watch the video I put up earlier, there is every chance that without the media and the panic created it could have actually gone unnoticed and just been seen as a slight 'bump' in the normal flu/corona statistics experienced every year
