Hi.....I have Longbow DF X45's in 12' 3.5. They are decent rods, maybe comparable with a Hi-S 3.5, with perhaps a bit more power in the middle, but certainly softer than a Hi-S'Ive ER. I've used these mainly in the margin to 80yds range, haven't needed to go any longer on waters I'm currently fishing. I'm using with Aero Tech's and they are very light and balanced, good for longer fights. If you are fishing weedy or snaggy waters for big fish you may want something with a little more power, the Infinity for example. I prefer the no longer made DF versions to the newer ones with the Alps seats. One word of warning, this applies to all most Daiwa and the Korda (Daiwa made) rods, the matt varnish Daiwa use makes it difficult to rebuild and get a similar finish. I don't really like the Minima style rings, yes they are light but I think the earlier Infinity's offered a lined ring, which I'd prefer. ALL the unlined rings on the market (AT, Sea Guide, Minima etc) will groove with braid, lined one's wont. Finally you can get Infinity's custom made by Daiwa but I think these are pre-x45, nice if you want graphics removed etc as you can't take them off without damaging the varnish, but £400 plus

Plus ignore any comments that they are ****, they aren't, but of course there are better rods out there. There are quite a few very good anglers that use Infinity's and Longbows, paid for themselves, not through sponsorships. The factory builds are decent value and are very well finished, compared to alot more ‘premium brands' (eg: free spirit)

Try them out in a shop against some of the other mentioned brands, costing twice as much and you'll be pleasantly suprised, not sloppy at all and probably a fair bit lighter dependent on the comparsion.

Also they're not as appealing to any tackle thieves!
