Just to chirp in since I used to be super into my bait making before I moved to Canada... to be transparent I haven't used either of these companies in over 16 years and only ever used the early on sticky baits pop-ups etc. when they first started up..... When I did live in England and I closed down my bait company and after speaking to Geoff at ABS numerous times I can thoroughly say that the quality of his baits and the formulations are top notch, he has been making bait and formulation the bait recipes since many of the people on this forum were in diapers, his knowledge of bait ingredients, how they compliment one another, the quality of the ingredients, the nutritional profile and the nutritional balance of the baits are second to none. His reputation in the industry speaks for itself and he would certainly not compromise that with anything less than awesome. I used to use his baits all the time and would have no hesitation jumping straight back on to them if I had to return back to the UK.
Now I'm certainly not saying that Sticky baits don't also have great baits and great formulations/people formulating their baits but for me I would go with ABS purely from past experience and knowledge. Not that my two peneth means anything but thought I would throw it put there anyway.

I've been using ABS now for over a decade and can thoroughly recommened their products. Quality is clear when you handle these baits and you know it's fresh - they roll to order, rather than having stock sitting on tackle shop shelves.

I'm quite interested in this bebate. Here's a question, if you could get sticky cheaper than Abs would you still go with hydra?

I don't use either as I make my own bait but to answer the question.
Within reason I would not skimp on the money if it gave me what I thought would be a better bait / a bait I had more confidence in.

YES I would , I'm lucky though its only a one hour drive from my door, freshly rolled, so will not be looking to change my choice of bait company anytime soon. However I have used this company for around 20 years now and will continue to do so.

Not commenting on either of the baits in question, but on the subject of price....
Quality bait doesn't have to cost more - I'd rather use 20% less of a bait that costs 20% more than compromise.
A real quality, no compromise hnv bait sold at £8 or £9 a kilo is not a high profit margin product at all. Bait that is sold for much less than that is designed 'down' to a price.
Cheap bait may well contain some decent ingredients, but to get the price down it's cut with cereals or bread - that's a fact.
2.5kg of really good boilies plus 2.5kg of decent pellets is cheaper than 5kg of crappy bait, and a better way to spend your bait money in my opinion.
