look at the close up of the spreader block, where the spring bow is written its the bit under neath between the block and pole

You definitely need that bit, thats what the block sits in so thats the problem if you dont have it.

Found this plate right at the bottom of the net bag! The spreader block and nut came sealed in a little plastic bag when I got it and with no instructions I didn't even know this little plate existed.... ....
