I don't have an issue giving it a go and yea as pointed out on here the smell will dissipate I am sure but when I have boughttu ING previously I have never noticed such a strong smell like the OMC.

Probably not . There's a thread on here somewhere about using wooden balls as bait, soaked in some form of attractor. that's most likely what he means. It works too
