Yep, no different from any other colour - make my own pop ups and hook baits, always have. A nice bright blue work just fine, was using that colour 25 years ago and still do - seems (he says) more effective in colder water, no idea why.

Years ago I saw some bloke on eBay flogging blue pop ups called Winter Blues. I bought some out of curiosity just to see. On receiving them I crumbled a couple to see what they were made of and as I suspected they were Polaris mix, dyed blue. The flavour though was mixed spice, lots of mace, cloves star anise etc etc and smelt like Christmas type puddings..
Fished them one winter night on one rod and caught one of the biggest fish on the lake. Baited up another rod with them and caught on that rod. Had quite a few fish on the overnighter on a reasonably difficult water and everyone came to these baits. Never managed to contact the bloke again and tried to replicate them. Never worked like the originals so don't know if it was a fluke or I let the best ever bait slip through my fingers
Edit: Just noticed it's an old thread. Saw it being looked at in the ‘who's on line section' and posted.
Still, it's an interesting subject so I won't delete it.
