Incidentally; you can make dozens of threaders with this stuff, and it's silly cheap.

In fairness I've never used the easy splice needles, so I wasn't referring to them. The needles I was referring to are the original Fox splice needles, specifically sized for their leaders. Having used those types of needles before I know with absolutely certainty they're poo.

I'll have a look at the easy splice needles though

They are good,I also use them to pull braid through the eye of a hook if it's a bit tight or the braid has frayed

I use the avid pin down, it's lovely stuff

My favorite by far was the NGT liquid wire. They now only seem to sell pre spliced leaders unfortunately, and strangely for NGT, it was worlds better than anything ive used since.

I'm thinking about fishing a neutral braided mainline so that I can get better distance than my current thick sinking braid.

What would be better for a leader, as I like to get the line down as much as possible near the hookbait - Would fluorocarbon be better than one of the lead free braided type leaders?

I guess it would be ~1m of braided leader or a longer length of fluoro that would also act as a shock leader for casting.

There is some weed around if that is also a factor!!
