Doesn't mean to say that everyone with a bivvy light uses it like a tool. Over in france for 10 days, night fishing where i'm not supposed to, i won't put the light on for fear of attracting attention to my home tucked back into the woods (never mind the mozzies you attract!). But i still need it at some point every night, so before it goes on the door comes down.

There's a lot of cocks in this game who will tell you they dont do this they dont use that, it makes them seem more carpy than the next man, it's an ego thing.
They're the same blokes who dont wear pant's and dont take food because they only eat worms (they'd have you believe), funny thing is they never catch anymore than the next man or the bloke who switched a light on.

I have a red Bivvy light so the hookers now where to come
I've a confession to make, while fishing in France, I left a little light on outside my bivvy all night, so I didn't stumble out to a take, in the pitch black....shall I sell up? Or just give myself a good slap?🙂
My god its terrible using a torch in the dark!!! can people not use things for the purpose they were designed.

Using a light is essential for some purposes, but many are taking it to extremes now.
The problem with using lights for the sake of it is it then ruins your night vision, so the head torch comes out for every glance outside the bivvy. The human lighthouses adorning most lakes now really do my nut in

I remember reading Kevin Maddocks never used to carry a torch at all, not saying I'd go as far as that though!

I only use green light so no problems with running night vision, because of a condition I cannot stand bright white light in the dark
I find eating 1kg of carrots a week before going means I don't need any light and can take the moral high ground against all those using lights

I've got an RM one and it's great, I also have an NGT one and that's just as good and a little cheaper

The main reason why I went for the RM is that the remote controls have separate + and - buttons for each color, with the Sublesa and many others you have 1 button for each color that you have to press several times for different light brightness.
Downside of the Rm more than 2x as expensive as the rest

I guess people just took the opportunity to address bad practise
Get a head torch by all means
Just remember most anglers go to get away from the old woman , work etc
And try to blend in with the surroundings
