I totally agree BUT there are some complete fools carp fishing nowadays and letting a couple in to a syndicate can cause a huge amount of problems.

I think your wrong. If you've got fish of such prestige that you want looking after, and a syndicate that on the whole, all get on like a house on fire. Taking recommendations rather than any tom dick or Harry off the street is the way to go. If someone's willing to put there own ticket on the line to vouch for someone, the likelihood of some idiot tuning up, pissing everyone off and worst case, damaging a stock of fish that have resided there since the late 70's, it is an absolute no brainer to have some degree of vetting/ recommendation system in place. I'm lucky enough to have a ticket, it's a fantastic syndicate of like minded anglers, no egos, nothing is ever too much of a problem for anyone to help you out, and it speaks volumes of the way it is run. If you want an easy route into the woolpack, the other side of the complex is far easier to get onto. There's a good handful of lads that have both tickets, meet people, get on with everyone and it's opens doors.

Really, lakes 1,2 and 3 were always the day ticket and green card, how come they're harder to get in now?

What I thought as well, the really sought after lakes that JS and others fish, with as far as I know the bigger fish, are surely harder to aquire a ticket for. Not 1,2,3.

It's pretty simple equation, 5/6/7/8 sell around 100 tickets, 1/2/3 sells 30. One side has a big turnover of anglers every year and the other has 2 or 3.
