Berkeley CF600 fluro is the best I have used. I think thats what carpbandit is referring to as well.

Yup, CF600 definitely not Trilene that stuff was god awful

I've been using it for some time. It casts well, its strong, sinks well, priced well and it's close to using a mono.
I have not found anything bad about it, it's all good
Cf600 breaks at 11lb, the same diameter rm flouro breaks at just under 18lb. I'd not use 11lb bs line at my syndicate with 50lb carp swimming around it....
Make your own choice though.

As others have said perhaps you could say why you are considering a fluro coated line over a proper fluorocarbon? I have 2 set of spools bit for everything up to 100 yards I use 12lb kontour. Expensive, but brilliant!

If the 11lb you state is based on the tackle box line tests I really wouldn't pay any attention to it. They state that fluorocarbon is tested with the same knots as mono so it's never going to give an accurate representation of its actual breaking strain when tied with an appropriate knot.

No reason I picked coated fluorocarbon over 100% fluorocarbon.
I just wanted to know about the Ridgemonkey line
The reason I'm thinking of using fluorocarbon is because I want to fish the naked chod rig
And I've read it's best fished using fluorocarbon line

I spooled up my reels with the ridge monkey flouro line last year and not very impressed with it,my mate recommends the Gardner stuff

must admit, when i first spooled up 4 rods on it, it cast quite poorly. so i took the rods down my field and gave it a good stretch and it cast like a dream thereafter.

I've started using it and first time I did seemed fine got the 20lb version but don't seem to have any issues with it
