With the Powerpro does it require continuous wetting of the braid before casting?

As with all 4 carrier braids it is prudent to wet them before casting, the 8 carriers not so much but then they aren't as tough therefore better for the spod rod

Me neither. No need to wet it at all and I've been using braid for all my lure fishing since the mid 90's.

Maybe ok casting a lure but trying to bang a 4oz lead 100 yards.....................I'd wet it

I use the 20lb (0.16) with a leader for longer range work (as far as I can tell it's exactly the same as the Korda stuff) with that diameter hitting the clip hard with a heavy spomb at shorter range isn't a good idea so the 40lb should be perfect.

I would say at least the 50lb stuff (0.36), if you buy it in the UK it may have a different BS rating so buy by diameter

Berkley cb2000 connect 35lb straight through to a short leader of your choice, neutral buoyancy, thin, casts an absolute dream and strong as an ox. Thats how I got best distances if your not worried about heavy sinking. It is also not too expensive. Berkleys lines are fantastic!

I use the 30lb on centrepins and small fixed spools, great line
Have pp from 30-100lb over various reels, it is a bit industrial but holds up well

Yep, spot on.
Power Pro is simply the best. Whiplash is too frail, good for casting but has terrible abrasion resistance.
