A friend came up with an idea for fishing naked heli rigs. Cut a 2 inch piece of leadcore and remove the lead. Push it through a heli bead then inset a baiting needle into the end you have pushed through. Gently heat the end with a lighter and it will sort of burr over. Do this with the baiting needle still inserted and the hole won't close up. Then just pull back through the heli bead, the burr will stop it pulling back through.
Only use a top bead and if you are lucky enough to catch the heli swivel will sit on the leadcore.

Hope that makes sense but it's a really good way of fishing naked and ensuring the swivel is not cutting through the main line when playing a fish.
