It's possible, but a few have mentioned slippage already so I'm not the only one.
I used the albright knot a lot which is similar, and never had a broblem(mono/flouro to braid) but I always found the mahin (braid to braid) to slip when testing.

Never really found braid to braid an issue. Braid to mono/flouro, that's when you need to take care. Sometimes it will look right but just won't bed. It has taken me a couple of goes to get it how I want in the past but when its right its right

To be fair most knots will do once you get one right, unless you hit your clip with the spod at about 750mph

When tying braid to braid with a Mahin, I find an additional overhand knot on the tag end cures the problem and stops it from slipping..

Before I gave up with it I was doing the extra overhand, and also using a figure 8 instead of the overhand on the thicker diameter braid. This stopped slippage but the breaking strain was less than with a double grinner. I use casting weed rakes often which may have highlighted weakness.
I started using heavier braid straight through in the end
