33 years in I wouldn't tie a rig without it when using the knotless knot. Had enough rigs as a kid undo its self and render itself useless each to their own.

That would be down to not tying them properly, the knot less knot once under strain just pulls tighter therefore making it not able to slip. A properly tied knot needs no glue

What he says is spot on. It can only get tighter. Your doing something wrong if you need glue for a knot less knot

Sorry let me explain my findings
I fished a lake for 3 months solid when I was 18. The knot if held under tension works however during this time of on the odd occasion the knot would through the return loop back round the eye. I had this happen literally two maybe three times and noticed the same thing happen to the bailiff. The majority of the time it was fine once may have been a fluke something I had done so I started to use rig glue. Since then i have used tired and not bothered with rig glue and on the odd occasion I've had the same thing happen.
Fished a place with lots of cray fish as a kid, on occasion the last turn on the return of the knot would drop back round essentially rendering the rig useless as it caused the hook length to leave the back of the hook. Tie a knotless knot with Nylon I'd defo use a dab of glue the knot just is begging to unwind.
I appreciate the principles of the knotless and leaders great in theory.
I'll leave it at this I prefer to use a dab of glue if you happy not to then great.

It's no assumption, it's fact. Even in crayfish infested waters. Glue can also affect the strength of certain materials ,meaning it makes them weaker.hence why barely anyone actually sells rig glue these days

I get a little emotional and should know better hence the edit.
Now I have just looked on line and see that the is a variation in tying the knotless knot both whip up the shank than returns where as (as I was shown) on the return back down the shank I would go round the shank once or even twice. It would therefore make sense that those return wraps have caused me to experience the issues I've had.
I've not found Gardner's rig glue weaken hook lengths again something I've used for decades I've heard it mentioned I've just haven't had an issue with it. I wouldn't know about the sales of glue I just hope that Gardner stop selling it.

Glue for a knot less knot? Dont be silly how on earth could it undo itself it tied properly

He isn't. A correctly tied knotless knot will not come undone
In almost 30 years of carping I have never glued a knotless knot. Why you would add something so unnatural and stinky to the most important part of your rig unnecessarily is beyond me
