Why is esne's quarry so bad? It looks a nice place and the fish look OK I know there not massive but every one seems to slag the place off?

I live around the corner from esnes and fished it before it got took on as a syndicate, lovely bit of fishing tbf as it was wild untouched overgrown and we caught plenty to just shy of 30lbs (originals) mainly stalking most out the edges on corn as it was practically a virgin water , we left when the syndicate was formed as it got stocked with loads of little ones and I'm pretty sure most of the originals perished not long after, there still maybe the odd one kicking about but I've rarely seen any pics of originals since and that was a good few years back now It had a 40 and a 30 Plonked in not long after so I believe (ed Mathews fish ) If they float your boat , lovely lake and settings but I feel like it's been a tad ruined with so many small fish , imo honest opinion there's better lakes around I.e the bowl syndicate which is 10 mins away and very good value for money with what's in there , loved my time on esnes in those early days though 👍
