I had the all terrain wheel on my Nash Trax, buy far the easiest barrow I've ever pushed on soft and hard ground.

I put a carp porter puncture proof wheel on my fox explorer, its mostly fantastic until there's a hint of soft mud then it grinds to a halt

I bought a fat boy a couple of years ago.
Its absolute pants in mud with the wide wheel.

Before that I had a porterlite with a skinny wheel for about ten years. Guess what? that was crap in mud as well.

Wish I knew what the answer myself.

I put “oko” in all my tyres these days. So all pretty much puncture roof. But for every thing apart from soft sand I prefer thin I think.. soft sand = balloon as fat as you can get.

I bought the standard puncture proof tyre (not wide version) for my carp porter, I've never had any problem pushing it round any lake or through mud, I had to use my mates wide boy carp porter on one session and the thing is a nightmare

I have 2 barrows, 1 is a match man type with solid narrow tyres (bloody noisy on gravel) small but still not that easy to push, the other is one that a local tackle shop had made for them, it folds down to a very small size and has golf trolly type solid wheels/tyres, I can push it but I found it is so much better when I pull it and I think thats where the problem is, if the barrows had 2 wheels side by side it may be easier to pull (or not) has anyone tried this?

I also put the carp porter wheel on my fox barrow
It's ok until you get a stone stuck in the tread
Then it feels like a square wheel😂

Anyway I won't fish anywhere where there's mud at the prices they charge

Good afternoon people. Have a dilemma. I have a fox explorer barrow. Brought second hand. The wheel and axle that came with it wasn't fox. Eventually the wheel and axle died. I have replaced the axle with the standard fox axle but seems like fox never have the space wheel in stock. Does anyone know if any other wheel fits ???
It's 12mm ish think
About 9/10cm of axle between the legs

I bought a cheap puncture less wheel from eBay, it come with a selection of bushes and spacers. It was fine for day fishing but when the barrow was loaded for a 3 dayer it was hard work pushing through the mud!

lots of people put a motorised wheel kit on and dont have a need for the original wheel anymore so join it and ask if anyone has one

I done the same, and after loading it, it had a flat spot lol. I was put onto a normal large solid wheel barrow wheel from Screw fix, ok it's yellow so not carpy lol but was a game changer in pushing it.
