Had plenty and the jag lockdown with the back bungee is the best.
Just remember to undo the bungee before you lift into your take and also tell your mate when hes minding your rods.

Cheers - this is the bungee system I'd heard about. Do you still have pick the rods up at 45 degrees (Joe Morgan demo vid 2014) ? Saved me a load of grief googling ‘strap on' ‘butt rest' etc. etc.

No funny angles. The rod locker is spring loaded. As you put your hand around the rod to lift it, you just tap the button(red in the pic) with your finger and under light pressure the band releases. Then you just lift the rod as normal.
If you have Instagram then Tom did a demo of them in operation a while back on the jag account. If you don't then let me know and I will do a quick phone video tomorrow and upload it to here.
You can face the button either backwards like I have here, or some guys prefer to face it forwards on the other side of the butt rest.

Thanks for all the rec's - really helpful! I've had a look...and Matrix / German Bungee Cord / JAG system all look sound.
JAG system seems a bit more time consuming (blobbing tie wraps etc.) Will compare prices - anyone used the German Bungee chord from OG's link ?

My friend uses the ones in GERRYS link when he fishes rainbow and says they are the best ever
He got them from a guy in I believe Hertfordshire who invented/made them I'm thinking of getting some myself 👍
