You can also use provimi fish meal instead of the LT94 it will save you some money.

I played around with this mix for ages and finally found a mix that in my circumstances worked really well.

I was concerned that the eggs were locking in all of the attractants inside the baits and only the attractants from the surface were leaching out , hence I removed the eggs from my mix and tested them at home the results were very conclusive , the baits without the eggs leaches far more of the attractants out into the water , my cup actually turned a brown colour whereas the baits with the eggs only leached out a minimum. Of the attractants , as you would expect as the mix is being glued together by the eggs.

As the purpose of this mix was to provide maximum AA attraction not using eggs will greatly improve the attraction in the water column.

Now there are some down sides of using this method in that after a couple off days the boilie becomes waterlogged and starts to float. This is not a problem for me as I rebait every day.

You would have to make your hookbaits with eggs in the mix otherwise they will not stay on the hair.

I am convinced that this has improved my catch rate.

Herring meal was in the original recipe , as was cayenne pepper , there wasn't any citric acid in the original either .
10 oz herring meal .
4 oz lamlac .
4 oz coarse semolina
1 oz soya
1 oz wheatgerm .
Cayenne pepper
Belachen
Vecon
Vegetable oil or sesame seed oil .
Looks from other post's ,Pete must have tinkered with it in recent years .

Hi Rivers,

The recipe I posted was the one that Pete posted on his famous Bait Discussion piece ages ago on the defunct black forum.

Hi BB , he obviously revised the recipe a bit ,
it worked just as well with provimi and chilli as I'm sure you know , and even cheaper to make ,
What's the citric acid all about ?

Hi Rivers,

Rather than me repeat it all, please read the posts of MystyM on the " Citric "" thread on page 15/16, and the " pH trigger by Nash " thread on page 24/25.
That will explain it all fully.
Get back to me if you wish.

Hi Jimbo,

I've never made it or used it. But I persuaded a mate a couple of years ago, who had made bait for years, to try it and he's had so much success with it that he wouldn't dream of making anything else. The only difference was,, he added 50mls of krill hydro to it.
On the black forum, very many anglers used it and many said it was the best bait they had ever used.
I only make high attract paste, because I can only fish short day sessions, but my mix is loosely based on it.

My mail from Pete back in April 2004 after getting to know him on the fishingwarehouse forum.

The measurements (numbers) are proportions, just put lbs kilos after each!!

5 Provimi 66 or SCO 70 Fishmeal
1.5 Soya Meal (NOT FLOUR)
2 Gold Top, Lamlac or Volac (Milk Replacers)
1 Wheatgerm
2.5 Coarse ground wholemeal Semolina

The Provimi, Soya Meal, Milk replacers and Wheatgerm can all be obtained
from Animal Feed Suppliers... Semo from a wholesale food outlet.. any Indian
ones round your way??

To each Kilo of made base add 50gm of Belachin (shrimp block) available from
chinese food wholesalers

To each Kilo of made base add 50 gm of cayenne pepper

To each 6 eggs add 25 gm of Vecon vegetable stock.

That's it!!! no 'flavours' required.. been working for years and will
continue to do so.....

Hope this Helps...

You must have caught Pete on a very good day or payed him 😂
He gave me the recipe , but left me to work out the pepper , shrimp and vecon amounts , funny/ luckily enough , that's the amounts I used for the shrimp and vecon , 20 grams for the cayenne though ,
Was a great bait , I just can't be arsed to make bait these days .
Are you sure?

This action cannot be undone.
