I used it for a season could not get on with it had the eame issues as other guys mentioned i switched back to shimano technium black and cannot fault it.

His problem with twist may lie with his reels rather than the line , some models exaggerate line twist or poorly serviced reels can also do it , just a thought

I've used the 12lb gt HD for a while now. Cannot fault it. Brilliant line with no twists. I think line twist is down to one of two things, either how it was loaded onto the spool or if it's on a bait runner and you've had a run or two.

Ive decided to go with 18lb pb control, on first look it seems very impressive, havent spooled it up yet but feels very limp and colour looks great, also obviously really thin diameter which i like

Dont know what diameter or breaking strain you were using with your old line but the 18lb pb will compare to most 10lb lines on the market being 0.30mm dia
I tried it a few years back in 24lb which compared strength wise to other 12 or 15lb dia lines in 0.35mm dia

I have used it for a season and a half and have found it superb. Limp, nice colour and very strong. Never had any problems with twist. Just re-spooled with the 15lb which fills 4 tournaments perfectly.
I've always heard good things about gthd but seeing a mate use it couple weeks ago and seeing the horrendous line twist then he had to remove about 8ft of line and snapped the 15lb by hand 😳 twice. I'll stick to technium, I've looked at other lines and used a few but in my opinion you really can't beat technium

Iv used the 15lb GTHD since it was released and had no problems with it. Never had it fail on me once. Even in weedy situations and in france fishing. I dont suffer line twist that bad to be honest no more than other lines iv used in the past. Iv just spooled up 3 reels with it again. Had the last lot on my reels for 3 years and been to france with it in that time catching some big fish at range and had no problems at all with it. I do soak it before i spool it up and load it on the correct way no issues at all. I can only assume people suffering from line twist bad are not loading it on properly in the first place putting the twist in the line when loading up spools.

Out of curiosity which way do you load it ie with the line coming off the end of the spool anti clockwise so it goes on the reel clockwise or with the spool spinning like it would if it had a shaft running through the centre of the spool?

theres an actual Gardner video on YouTube to show you how to load correctmate, I followed this but still got a bit of twist whilst fishing

You should always take the line off a spool the same way it was put on otherwise you will put twist into it. You should always spool up with something through middle of the spool and have it spinning, not lay it flat in a bucket. By laying it flat you are putting twist into the line. Leon bartropp does a good video on youtube about the GTHD showing the correct way to spool it up and any line really. i do it the same as him and never had any issues with line twist. I swear by the GTHD best line iv used and iv used alot over the years. It does everything i want in a line and its never failed me yet.

There is not a line on the market which doesnt have some element of line twist once it has been used and abused. Once you have played a few hard fighting fish the line gets stretched and any line will twist. Every line i have used has some twist in once it has been stretched. I dont find the GTHD to be any worse than other popular lines iv used. The biggest problem with line twist is it not being loaded properly and using clutchs and not back winding cause that puts more stretch into the line.
