I have a carp porter mk2 and a power porter mk6 24v and compared to the mk2 I wouldn't say the power porter was an easy pack down, the batteries and motor are both heavy and the frame is bigger. I think I would struggle to get the power porter in my car (BMW 3 series saloon), the mk2 goes in pretty easily.

Ok thanks for the reply. Still a lot of mixed feelings about the power porter packdown. I actually have an Astravan which is no bigger than an estate car but know I would not just be able to wheel it straight in so would still need to dismantle it. Still undecided now

Message Dave Lane via Facebook, he has one and one of those truck type vehicles so he must have to pack his down to a certain extent, see what he says, last I saw though he was also looking to get a van

If you have an Astra van you'll be fine just taking the handles off and leaving the front wheel attached and just fold the rear wheels 👍🏻

Lifting it in was fine for me when I had similar sized van. Have a bigger van now so I can just wheel it straight in fully loaded and off I go 👌🏻

It is heavy but it's not like you've got to carry it miles
I used to empty the barrow into the van, take the handle off, fold the back wheels down, lift into back of van on top of the rest of my gear, then rods in last
Lot easier now I've got a bigger van and just wheel it straight in and out of my garage into my van

Make sure when you load it up you spread the weight across the whole barrow
First time I used mine I loaded it like a normal barrow with most of the weight over the wheel and got about 20 yards of struggling before it went over

Out of interest is that when using the rear wheels, as I have found that as well, you have to load it the opposite of a normal barrow or over it goes, all the weight at the rear?
I put it down to the way the rear end sits higher with the rear wheels on, might just use the legs and see what thats like
