I've sprayed mine with Grangers revive X & it definitely makes them water resistant !! Been out in some proper downpours & its not let any moisture through !!

That would make sense Chuffy. I was advised to use the Nikwax to showerproof my Rab down pertex jacket.
A little tip, always make sure the missus gets the insert in the washing machine tablets rather than the trays. Dont use the trays at all for powders or tablets or liquids.
Soap really kills waterproofing agents so if you keep the trays clear, on goes a really hot wash though the machine to cleanse it then put the nikwax techwash and then the nickwax proofer through the trays.

Pure soap flakes do exactly the same thing with regards to nikwax tech wash and is considerably cheaper! TX direct is a superb reproofing agent though, always run you're washing machine on its hottest setting before carrying out the cleaning or reproofing and clean the tray out of all washing detergent beforehand as this will stop the water proofing from adhering to the fabric, I found out the hard way and wasted loads back in the day until I realised what was going on

I always run a weekly hot cycle through the washing machine for legionella purposes and not necessarily before the re proofing. Will defo do that in the future though so thanks for that...
