No, i just dont jump on band wagons. I try and base my decisions and opinions on facts, not the tripe spouted on the internet.

Zero sympathy.
All that hype, and the vast majority who are looking at the product can see through the pushy Marketing 101 bull****. The safety aspects should have been discussed on release before GenPop stuck their oar in. It would have saved all this. Then again, it's Ali. The tears, the bombastic language, and the whole cloak and dagger ******** surrounding the product came first.
"We have this brilliant thing. You cannot see it, but trust me, it's changed my life and it'll change yours. Just pay us £10 and you too can be in the same catatonic state like me.....just watch these videos as proof!"
Exactly the same narrative as the nutnuts preaching on religious channels.

Compared to many lead set ups, this is probably the least safe. I just cannot see how a carp can storm into a thick weed bed and get itself back out in the event of a crack off.
Those "breakable" arms add another element of tethering, even if the lead is ejected. There are far far safer lead set ups.
Just watched the footage of the Grenville fish picking up the hookbait. "There's none of this head shaking on the spot". Mate, it shook its head four times, plus the poxy thing doesn't even engage when the lead is dragged across the lovely clean bottom after the hook is already buried in the fishes lip.
Oh well, at least you can say you've made carp fishing history by catching the biggest carp on an underwater camera eh?

Safety aside, actually looking at it, I can't see how it has any benefit at all.
It looks like you have to pull the elastic to set it, and the two prongs them lock it in place. Say the elastic took 2lb of pressure to pull into that position, it looks like it then needs just over 2lb of pressure to then pull the elastic a little bit further so that it can release. If does nothing that it wouldn't do if those 2 prongs weren't there.
Now, it if was like a mouse trap, and took a tiny amount of pressure to release, bit then suddenly hit with a full force of the 2lb of elastic, I could see that having some kind of benefit. Unless I'm missing something I don't see that it does anything at all?
It's like that hermit rig. All the elastic does is slow down the time it takes untill the fish feels the full weight of the lead. The elastic can't apply any pressure like people seem to think. It can't apply more pressure than the lead already does. The only reason that it works, we'll, I'm not convinced it does, but the only thing it does is to soften the lead during head shakes.

I sort of agree - but the hermit and the way I use elastic isn't to increase shock, it is to take up the slack between the hook and the lead, to stop the small amount of slack that allows a fish to shake out the hook, usually without coming into contact of the lead. It's very easy to shake a hook out on mono but try the same with a bit of thin pole elastic and it's a lot tougher even as a human!
